I like the matte colour, too :) Really nice overall look.
Have you scrapped the green van front panel yet? They're a bit hard to come by in decent quality these days.
Ultimately the truck is going to be painted... orange. I recommend him go all out with House of Kolor Tangerine Orange, but we will see the outcome. Yes I still have the Green front end, it will hang on his garage wall in time.

Sadly, they are the later style Australian Mk3 with the big latches we had to graft into the door jamb.

I just wanted to share a build that I am completing for a very good friend/customer in Massachusetts, USA. It has been a long build as the base, a 1968 Mini Pickup the shell needed a fair amount of metal work before we could start. I bought the pickup as a rolling incomplete project that had a Honda K20 with an extended flip front. I prefer the Honda D16 Sohc and a steel front. So we set out on tackling removing the old conversion and installing our conversion kit, MCM conversion kit that retains stock suspension and geometry. Matt and I differ a bit in color palates, but overall we have a similar vision of what the final product should be. Sorry for the English, Mein Deutsch ist noch nicht so gut.
So I will start this project off of where we are at right now, we are getting close to going for first test drive tomorrow, just waiting for new Hondata S300 to be installed tonight, and a few small jobs to do before we can go cruising. Then I will post a few from the beginning and how we got here.

Hi John,
moving over to another country, means learning new rules and regulations. One way is to indulge in the old world and quit with your business. The other way is to take the challenge, studdy all the rules and regulations, find the little gaps and back doors and continue your business in the new but more regulated world. You have lots of experience and successfull projects in you backpack. There is no reason to let all these behind. In an enviroment where almost everything is allowed, its always easy. And everybody can do easy. But in an enviroment with stricter rules, only the best are successfull. Just take it as another level. Of course there is a market for your projects. Not only in Germany, all over Europe. And you can bring your personel american touch to it. Making your projects roadlegal in Germany is not only a challenge and hard work, its also a quality label.
So go on and face the challenge.
so long
the Doc
This is how I always think. My wife thinks things are always black in white, I think there is a lot of gray area. I'm up for the challenge. By not being a citizen I will have to play by the rules, but hopefully find a means of achieving the goals I want.
Took some new pictures of the kit and accessories last night.
