top tip
to seperate the rubber from the aluminum trumpet a good soaking with some release agent (sorry not sure of a good brand here, still looking myself) and then use a Masonry chisel to separate the parts like
note that the rubber has a steel insert that can remain on the aluminium trumpet and will need removing as well. then again soak with a release agent and then with a metal rod tap the Knuckle out.

but the Chassis number is 80-85 format with i guess a typo on the first l that should be a L showing it as a 998 engine.
oh the good old bucket seat question. had many in Minis over the years. the more you pay the more comfortable they tend to be. BUT that all have the same issues. most are designed to work with a Harness. and the sides are high and wear faster than the rest due to contact when entering and exiting.
so back to this week
and decided against the yellow tow eyes
other things i did fit the fuel pump breather with some heat wrap.

Ok German regulations require the car to have a cat fitted.

just before going to the AMDA i was looking at a picture i took when the engine was out.
as the carb was off i had a feel. opps they were loose so made a mini tool to get in there
all back together for the AMDA meet

true, sure they will come up with something. cant see it being too complex. must have a look at a few LHD cars for ideas.

unfortunately for the German regs i must have a Catalytic converter which means a new exhaust system. not that the Cat. will do anything other than change the standing wave pattern in the system. so it will not be out yet as i still have work to do and money to spend.

mmm i beg to differ. the correct original thermostat has a hole in it. some after market ones do not have this hole with wiggly thing in it these are not good.
pleae not i am not talking about adding extra holes.
see the hole and wiggly thing on the right. this is needed to allow air out of the system and TBH is a must in all Mini cooling systems.
if you want anything collect at the meet. any thing left over i will put up and can post.
as you can see there is a very odd selection of things ranging from new unused DSN Retrospot parts to new old stock Rover Wiper boxes.
not all parts shown prices will be fair if at Seidenbuch. depending on if i am thirsty or hungry 
the Harness is OMP and is not valid for racing anymore.
