Hi Peter,
Innocenti was founded as a metalworking company in `31
After WW2, they started constructing scooters (Lambretta) and later on, also built cars under license.
It was a license built Austin A40, later on, from 1965 also the Mini...
After the founder, Ferdinando Innocenti, passed away in 1966, some years later, British Leyland bought Innocenti and continued to build Minis and later on also the Innocenti Mini 90L and 120L with a body, newly designed by Bertone...
Then, somewhere in 1975, Innocenti was again sold on to Alejandro de Tomaso. Yes, the guy that also built the De Tomaso Pantera...
British Leyland actually owned Innocenti for only abaout
3 years...
Cheers, Diddi
Hi Diddi,
thks for explanation, yes I knew that.
So Leyland bought the company and took over in May 1972
I m confused when they changed the Badges/ Enblem and Horn button
from plain Innocenti to Leyland Innocenti
Your car shows all the regular Innocenti Logo non of the leyland
and your car. is a 1973 non export
Perhaps only export version had the Leyland / innocenti logo??

Peter, the Leyland logo was indeed introduced with the Export. The Pre-Export w/o Leyland-logos was built between Feb. 72 and March 73.
There was an overlap period, because production of the Export model startet in Feb. 73
Only 9992 pre-export B39/6 were built and they are different to the Export in many, many areas.
When Export production started there was also a transition period, where parts from the previous model had been still used (to empty stocks I assume)
