Sorry another English German question. paint.

  • What are you guys using for paint to touch up your old Celulose paint?

    What do you ask for?

As I am looking to get some cans made up for touch ups.

But it looks like Celulose paint is either hard or impossible to get here.

This more of a translation and how do you manage question.

    Thanks in advance.

  • could be tricky to get it in a paint shop in germany.
try to find a body painter to talk to about your problem.
very often they have other sources and are also still authorised to work with this kind of products.

  • you can try http://www.korrosionsschutz-depot.de/rostschutz-und…/kunstharzlack/ they gonna mix you every colour.
Kunstharzlack is a 1K Topcoat It is polishable but has no real UV /Birdshit resistance. :) that should be okay for touching up old paint.
You can also try n find somebody who sells MASON CT http://www.masonct.co.uk/Products/Pages/default.aspx which also is a 1K Product once British but now belonging to SIKKENS / Lesonal /AKZONobel

If you want something worse try to source some Cellulose paint from http://www.industrystock.de/html/Zellulose…de-66194-0.html but i doubt that you will be happy with that.

BTW which year was your Mini built that you are asking for Cellulose paint ?

  • Another Idea i had while taking a nap in the Office: visit your local Baumarkt / Bauhaus / Obi one with a decent DIY Paint Area. there you can get 1K Acryllic paint matched to your specific colourshade which would be also suitable.

  • The reason for asking about cellulose is that is what I painted it in 20 years ago.

Yep could go down the acrylic line but.... Ordering paint online is rather hard as it is not the original paint and I have no code to go by.

Luckily I will be back in the UK soon and I can get some cans made up. Just need to take part of the car so they can match it.

Cheers for the info it has just really confirmed what I thought.
